Have you ever wondered why we have a Three Tier System of Delivery for Wine and Spirits ( producer to distributor to retailer then to the consumer) versus Direct Delivery of goods ( Producer to Retailer then to consumer) for Food?
In my experience, three tier delivery is an archaic model supported by alcohol distributors as a legal mandate to keep them as well paid middlemen. Food Distributors Have no such mandates and delivery far more goods to the consuming public.
